TIP # 1 – Know that tile grout has two types: the sanded and non-sanded.

For both tile and laminate floors, you need a good mop to get a really good, deep clean.  While sponge mops work fine for every day cleaning, they essentially work the same as the all-in-one tool, but with more work.  If you have tile floors, and the tile is higher than the grout, then the sponge mop or all-in-one will simply push the dirty water onto your grout, making it look even dirtier.  Sponge mops also do not scrub very well.  A better choice is a mop with cloth strips or a cloth mop with coiled yarns.  Both of these mops can scrub tough stains and can reach the tile as well as the grout.  For floor cleaner, you want to create a solution with a basic cleaner, such as Lysol or 409, mixed with water.  You can use a fairly diluted solution for the tiles or laminate, but the grout will require a more concentrated solution.  Follow the instructions for “Heavy Cleaning” on the cleaning solution bottle.
